Egyptian/American Cartoons – Will Dannemann

For this exchange, students from Stanford and the American University in Cairo posted and commented on each other’s analyses of political cartoons and advertisements.

So these are my two cartoons:

Egyptian:

So maybe it might be a little stereotypical. I am aware that not everyone in Egypt is a mummy, its just something that I felt could possibly cross the American-Egyptian humor border without anyone getting offended.

American:

Well, Cheney is (was) not the most popular Vice President in America. He managed to shoot a guy in the face, in case you didn’t hear, and he apologized to him. He’s bad enough for Darth Vader to be offended by the comparison. I think that says enough.
