Egypt Political Cartoons- Tara Trujillo

For this exchange, students from Stanford and the American University in Cairo posted and commented on each other’s analyses of political cartoons and advertisements.

I think this cartoon is appropriate for an Egyptian audience because it deals with a well-known international issue (the war in Iraq), one that I would presume other countries would know quite a bit about. Furthermore, it criticizes the actions of the United States (is self-deprecating), rather than making a comment about a country I know little about.

I feel that my second cartoon is very applicable to Stanford students because it plays humorously off of a stereotype that is often attributed to Stanford students (it is also rather self-deprecating).
